I express the “existence of life” from multiple layers of lines and textures.
While visiting various places in Japan and abroad to create films and animations, I came to feel the existence is created by other existences as I observed the movements and colors of living creatures and nature. I then began to create paintings, hoping to express myself with physical art, which have the actuality that I can touch.

When I touch nature, I sometimes feel my own existence. This is because the existence of life, which is dedicated to living, teaches me about my own existence.

Each one of us is a tiny being, but many lives have gathered together to create this big universe. Even if we are not directly involved, the present moment is created by the existence of life from the past to the present, and I believe that you and I are a part of that.

My work is created by the overlapping of lines and colors, and the repetition of construction and destruction. Lines and colors that are buried beneath later become texture, and the presence of each shape and color enhances and supports the other shapes and colors.

Every moment is an instantaneous miracle woven by the interplay of life, and no two are ever the same.
If any one thing were to be lost, neither this moment nor this painting would exist.

To touch the existence of life is to touch one’s own existence.
To paint “the presence of life” is to paint me, and you.

The artwork can exist only because there are people who see it. And I hope that existence of my artwork will lead to your existence.
