「命の存在」を描く
Expressing the Presence of Life
幾重にも重なる線とテクスチャーから「命の存在」を描いています。
描かれる線は、風と光の象徴であり、絶えず動き、めぐる命を表しています。
「存在」とは何か―
幼い頃から、ここにいること、生きているということに不思議さを感じていました。
様々な国を旅し、人や命と関わる中で、
存在とは他の生命の存在によって生まれると考えるようになりました。
特に「自然」という生きることにひたむきな命の存在は、自分の存在を教えてくれるように感じます。
それは「生きている」ということに繋がるのではないでしょうか。
はじめは目に映る風景を描いていましたが、
次第にそれらの元となる命の動きや音、光、言葉として生まれる前の感情を描くようになりました。
私たちは一人一人はちっぽけな存在ですが、
多くの命が集まり、この大きな宇宙を作っています。
直接的に関わらなくとも、過去から今へ続く命の存在によって今この瞬間がつくられ、
あなたも、私も、その一部だと思うのです。
命の存在に触れることは、自分の存在に触れること。
「命の存在」を描くということは、あなたを描き、自分を描いているのかもしれません。
私が描く「命の存在」は、私自身と見る人が、自身の「存在」を確かめる手段でもあります。
作品を見たとき、あなたの存在に繋がることを願って。
Through layered lines and textures, I depict the existence of life.
The lines that appear in my work symbolize wind and light, and represent life as it constantly moves and circulates.
What does it mean to exist?
Since childhood, I have felt a sense of wonder about being here, about being alive.
Through traveling to many countries and encountering people and other forms of life, I came to believe that existence is born through the presence of other lives.
In particular, I feel that the presence of nature—life that is wholly devoted to living—reveals my own existence to me.
Perhaps this is what it means to be alive.
At first, I painted the landscapes visible before my eyes.
Gradually, however, I began to paint the movements, sounds, and light of life that give rise to those landscapes, as well as emotions before they take shape as words.
Each of us may be small on our own,
but countless forms of life come together to create this vast universe.
Even without direct connection, this very moment is shaped by the existence of life that continues from the past into the present,
and I believe that you and I are both part of it.
To come into contact with the existence of life is to come into contact with one’s own existence.
To paint the existence of life may also be to paint you, and to paint myself.
The existence of life that I paint is also a way for both myself and the viewer to affirm our own existence.
When you see my work, I hope it connects you to your own existence.
